Meta launches Mac app for its AI chatbot with screen-sharing and business tools
First reported
Engadget and The Verge ran this on , all on the same day.
- Meta AI, the company's chatbot, now has a dedicated Mac application that lets users share their screen so the AI can see and comment on their work.
- The app can connect to Google Workspace documents and Meta's own business analytics, letting small business owners ask the AI questions about their Facebook and Instagram performance.
- Meta AI can now analyze post engagement metrics and suggest content strategies, as well as create documents and spreadsheets by pulling data from a user's accounts and the web.
- The move positions Meta's free AI tool against rivals like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude, which already offer desktop apps with similar screen-sharing features.
- Meta has introduced rate limits on advanced features, directing some users toward a paid Meta One subscription plan to fund the expansion.
